Mixing Principle

Vaporization of liquids through direct heat exchange

Target: Completely evaporate a liquid by means of a direct heat exchange, e.g. to uniformly distribute a reactant in a gas or to cool down a gas efficiently.

Target
Completely evaporate a liquid by means of a direct heat exchange, e.g. to uniformly distribute a reactant in a gas or to cool down a gas efficiently.

A static mixer provides a large internal surface area on which a liquid injected into a gas flow is spread like a film. Owing to the high turbulence created by the mixer and the high relative velocity between the liquid film and the hot gas, heat and mass transfer are greatly improved. Therefore the size of the apparatus can be significantly reduced compared to a conventional spray evaporator.
