Mixing Principle

Turbulent dispersing of insoluble liquids or gases into low-viscous liquids

Target: Create and maintain a dispersion of a liquid or gas in a low-viscous liquid with a clearly defined droplet/bubble size, e.g. to achieve an intensive and predictable mass transfer between the phases.

Target
Create and maintain a dispersion of a liquid or gas in a low-viscous liquid with a clearly defined droplet/bubble size, e.g. to achieve an intensive and predictable mass transfer between the phases.

Two immiscible phases are brought into an intensive contact in co-current flow within a static mixer of suitable design. The mixer produces a uniform and clearly defined energy dissipation in the flow, whereby droplets are dispersed and distributed over the entire cross-section of the pipe. A large interfacial area is created, maintained and continuously renewed, which provides excellent conditions for an intensive mass transfer.
