These two elements create two large counter rotating vortices which propagate over the entire cross section of the pipe to completely mix the entire cross section and even at the area close to the wall.

The KVM offers a pressure drop of only 11” of water column at 5 ft/sec. The KVM can mix additives introduced upstream of the mixer or it can mix additives injected directly in front of the first mixing element. In order to allow the injection of multiple additives with one mixer the KVM can also be made with multiple injection port connections. The KVM can mix the additives without a sparger. A large additive to main flow ratio is not a problem because of the optimized mixing element design. The KVM is normally made from 316L SS with 150# flanges, but it can be made in 316L SS, PP, FRP, and PVC with other materials available upon request.
