Chemical
Polycarbonate production
Polycarbonate is formed from Bisphenol A either in a phosgene based or phosgene-free process. In both of these processes a wide range of mixer applications in different production stages are well established.

These are:
- mixing of carbon monoxide with chlorine to form phosgene
- dispersion of organics with caustic for washing purpose
- admixing of small amounts of different additives
The static mixer SMI™ secures within short distance a homogeneous mixture to ensure optimal conditions for reactions. It creates uniform droplet size distribution of the washing liquid to facilitate mass transfer
Customer advantages
- Uniform distribution of concentration and temperature
- Minimized side reactions, higher yield
- Low pressure drop
- Short installation length
