Static mixers and coolers from Sulzer Chemtech are used in fiber production to ensure optimal mixing, homogenization and cooling of the polymer melt. This provides a basis for the economic production of man made fibers of consistently high quality.

By not relying upon the benefits of Sulzer coolers and static mixers fiber plants may develop differing melt qualities at all spinneret blocks and therefore a significant down time due to fiber breakage.

The Sulzer SMR™ Cooler is used to efficiently cool down the polymer melt. The Sulzer SMX™ mixer is used to achieve high homogeneity after admixing additives. The so called 2D and 3D modules are a tool to completely homogenize the melt prior to each flow split.
