Plastics Processing
Introduction
A perfectly homogenised melt is one of the most important requirements in achieving high quality polymer products.
A perfectly homogenised melt is one of the most important requirements in achieving high quality polymer products. Faults such as colour streaks, flow lines, uneven wall-thickness, flow variations etc. lead to increased reject rates and increased production costs and are often the result of an unhomogenized melt. The Sulzer mixing head SMK-R is an efficient tool to achieve a consistent melt homogeneity in injection moulding machines. For extrusion and blow moulding applications, the Sulzer Melt Blender, SMB-R is used to achieve the same results. These Sulzer mixers provide a larger processing window and give improved product quality whilst ensuring that products are produced more economically. back
