Deoxygenation of seawater is effected by intensive mixing of nitrogen with water and consequently stripping off the oxygen. The objective is to achieve a low oxygen content in the water at the outlet of the system prior to injecting the process water back to the oil well. In order not to deteriorate the properties of crude oil and prevent bacteria growth in the well, the oxygen content needs to be as low as possible. The process is patented by Minox Technology in Norway.
Customer advantages
- Effective Oxygen stripping
- Minimum space requirement
- Minimum weight (important on Off Shore Platforms)
- High water throughput with good turn down ratios
