Aeration of Water

Potable water entering the distribution network is conditioned with Air or Oxygen to increase the Oxygen content.

pH – Control and neutralization

Neutralization is a very fast reaction and is nearly impossible to complete stechiometrically under conditions of continuous flow unless the dosing and mixing of reactants is close to perfect. In the absence of good mixing representative pH measurement and monitoring is rendered impossible due to spatial variations of concentration.

Ozonization of Water

Potable water is contacted with Ozone for disinfection purpose. The Air or Ozone is dispersed with the SMV mixer and absorbed in the water.

Seawater treatment

Seawater can be used as a valuable source of potable water providing that a variety of additives is efficiently admixed. Typically, small amounts of additives have to be admixed efficiently into immense volumes of seawater under the conditions that allow for sufficient residence time and require large reaction volumes.

Seawater Deoxygenation

Deoxygenation of seawater is effected by intensive mixing of nitrogen with water and consequently stripping off the oxygen. The objective is to achieve a low oxygen content in the water at the outlet of the system prior to injecting the process water back to the oil well. In order not to dete-riorate the properties of crude oil and prevent bacteria growth in the well, the oxygen content needs to be as low as possible. The process is pat-ented by Minox Technology in Norway.
