Mixing Principle

Heat transfer with products of high viscosity

Target: Heat or cool a highly viscous, nonnewtonian and temperature-sensitive product in a rapid and gentle way in order to avoid any damage to the product.

A static mixer causes a continuous rearrangement of the product flow. Boundary layers close to the wall are renewed efficiently and heat transfer is significantly enhanced. Therefore the residence time in the heat exchanger can be reduced and small temperature gradients can be applied. Local overheating is prevented.

In addition to the monotube SMXL™ there is also a multitube mixer-heat exchanger. In cases where the flow is high and can not be handled anymore in a monotube, the multitube is an alternative. This heat exchanger has no limit in view of product throughput or heat to be transfered.
