Mixing Principle
Turbulent dispersing of insoluble liquids or gases into low-viscous liquids

Two immiscible phases are brought into an intensive contact in co-current flow around a static mixer of suitable design. The mixer produces a uniform and clearly defined energy dissipation in the flow, whereby droplets are dispersed and distributed over the entire cross-section of the pipe. A large interfacial area is created, maintained and continuously renewed, which provides excellent conditions for an intensive mass transfer.

Dispersion produced in a Sulzer SMV mixer in the turbulent flow regime.
