Optifoam ™

Optifoam is the most simple physical foaming solution to implement. None or only minor modifications of the existing machine equipment are necessary. The system is designed according to customer’s specifications and can be adapted to any extrusion line independent of make or model.

Physical foaming for Extrusion

A fluid-injection/mixing module is fitted to the extruder without any local modifications necessary. In this module, blowing agent is metered into the melt flow over a maximum surface area to ensure good predistribution of the blowing agent in the polymer material. Such mixture of blowing agent and polymer is further homogenized in the static mixer over sufficient residence time to allow for complete dissolution of the blowing agent.

System size and mixer configuration depends on through-put, raw material and process conditions. The system is integrated with existing or new extrusion lines and therefore specifically designed.

Physical foaming of Liquid Silicone Rubber

Special fluid injection modules allow to charge the LSR components A+B with physical blowing agents prior to the injection unit. The LSR expands to a fine cellular foam in the mold.
