East Coast Refinery Coker Turnaround (15/04/2003 , United States )
East Coast Refinery Coker Turnaround. Four Drum Coker with extensive weld repairs to external welds, internal base metal buildup and stainless liner repairs and installation. Four 16” nozzles were sleved with a stainless liner. Seventy welders accomplish the repairs in a fifteen day turnaround window. Coker Fractionator Tower had 30 feet of coke that required jackhammers to remove. One lower bed of random packing was completely fouled and required jackhammers to remove and packing was replaced. Top bubble cap trays required extensive cleaning. Six vertical feet of shell was striplined with two support rings replaced. Three nozzles were installed. One tower required replacement of six trays that was scheduled and one tower required emergency replacement of three trays. Fifteen drums were blinded, cleaned and closed. Miscellaneous nozzle installations and PWHT on one Vessel along with additional internal repair work. Over 130 craftspeople completed this labor intensive scope of work safely and on time.
Hawaiian Refinery Plantwide Turnaround (09/02/2003 , United States )
Hawaiian Refinery Plantwide Turnaround. Cana-Tex performed the blinding, opening, cleaning and repairs on 13 Towers and 30 Drums. The revamp of 1 tower included removing (1) Bed of Packing, Remove (29) Trays and install (35) New Trays Requiring Support Modifications and Additions. In another tower we removed (2) Beds of Packing, replaced a Vapor Horn and reinstalled the packed beds. All other drums and columns were cleaned for inspection, miscellaneous weld and mechanical repairs and nozzle replacements were performed. The project demanded close coordination to insure proper mobilization due to its location and travel restrictions. Project was completed safely and on time.
Dutch Refinery FlexiCoker Tower and Vessel Turnaround (10/11/2003 , The Nederlands )
Dutch Refinery FlexiCoker Tower and Vessel Turnaround and Tower Revamp Projects. Blinded and deblinded towers and vessels, opened column and vessel manways, opened tray manways for inspection, removed existing trays and modified tray support rings and downcomer bars, installed new trays for various towers, cleaned existing trays and drums, cleaned gasket surfaces, removed and modified existing spray headers, replaced existing demister pads. Cana-Tex performed this work on time and safely.
