Styrene/Ethylbenzene Splitter - Heat Pump System

The separation of the Styrene and Ethylbenzene mixture requires large amounts of energy. A heat pump with a mechanical compressor was implemented to save energy.

Our involvement:

  • Basic engineering
  • Markup of detail engineering
  • Procurement of compressor, heat exchangers and reflux drum
  • Procurement of column internals
  • Supervision of the installation of internals
  • Assistance during commissioning
  • Guarantee on recovery and purity

The heat pump allows to save over 1 mio Euro yearly on operating costs.
